About the Artist
Goran Mitrović was born in 1968 in Sremska Mitrovica.
He gained his first artistic experience in the studio of the academic painter Dragan Martinović. In the period from 1983 to 1990, Dragan Martinović discovered the world of fine arts and prepared him for admission to the Academy of Fine Arts.
He entered the Academy in 1990, in Sarajevo, in the class of professor Ratko Lalić. After completing the first year of basic studies, due to the start of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he was forced to finish his studies at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in the class of professor Dušan Todorović.
He organized his first solo exhibition in the gallery of the Belgrade City Library. Since 1994, he has been exhibiting with the group of painters "Ravničari and friends" organized by the "Picasso" gallery. Since 1998, they have been exhibiting under the name "Scene Painters".
1994-2000
The series of paintings he presented at exhibitions in the country and abroad from 1994 until today are: "Guardians of the Dream", "Traces of Time", "Heavenly Travelers", "Lost in the Mist" and so on.
2000–2011
He participated in several collective exhibitions in the country and abroad as a member of the Association of Fine Artists ESNAF. From 2008 to 2011, he exhibited independently in Slovenia, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Republic of Srpska
2011–2021
Study trips to Hungary, Austria, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia.
Mitrović's works can be found in many reputable institutions, galleries, as well as in private collections in the country and abroad. It is represented in encyclopedias, lexicons and books about art.
Lives and works in Serbia / Sremska Mitrovica.
